Prof Karl Merz will deliver a lecture on The History of Protestant Church Music at the Lutheran Church in Newsburg next Sabbath afternoon at 3 o clock. The event invites the general public to attend.
A 1d year old William Morris drowned in Mohican creek near the Wayne county line last Saturday while swimming. Remains not recovered. Also, Will Ani and Clem Steinmetz were thrown from a car on Marshallville road north of Orrville. Steinmetz sustained injuries. Springfield convention results show General Robert P. Kennedy nominated for Lieutenant Governor by acclamation. Governor candidate Judge J. B. Boraker of Cincinnati won the first ballot. Ticket details and platform were not finalized, and the Temperance memorial from the Voters Union was ignored.
A county central committee was established by resolution of the county convention last Saturday. The committee comprises one member from each voting precinct, listing members including E. H. Mrs W C Orradd and Miss Miriam M Davis represented Wooster W C T U at the State Convention in session at Kent on June 10 and 12. A Flower Day visit to the Children’s Home on June 6 brought bouquets, songs, and brief addresses, earning praise for the host organization. Ware W C T U held its annual meeting with officers re-elected and funds reported for lectures, literature, and the All-around-the-World temperance mission.
