Neath of William Penick Willis James, only son of James Penick and wife of Wooster, died Sunday August 24 at age 1 year 9 months. Funeral services held Tuesday afternoon. Jail statistics show 13,504 prisoners in Ohio jails year ending June 30, 1902. 8,638 Ohio born, 3,141 other states, 1,725 foreign born. Colored prisoners numbered 1,240. 918 wholly illiterate. Total cost of supporting prisoners was $116,361.87.

Wooster Man Charged With Hound Theft In Elyria
Wooster resident Harry Lehman was jailed in Elyria on a charge of stealing and shipping a beagle hound to Wooster. Police recovered the dog and returned it to the owner. Lehman, described as demented, had previously been taken into custody in Rochester, Pa, by Marshal Lerner before disappearing again.

Dr AM Armstrong a prominent Doylestown physician died Thursday at age 95 after years of paralysis. He practiced in Doylestown for about 48 years and served one term in the state legislature.
