Judge J. C. McDonald presided a brief Ware County City Court session this morning. four African American hoboes pled guilty and were sentenced to three months labor on roads. Jim Ferguson also pled guilty to a breach of state prohibition law and received a $100 fine or twelve months on the gang.
January reports show multiple relocations in the Southern building with new offices at 2 Plant Avenue under A M Knight and Son. A B Estes and others take over vacated suites while doctors Carswell Walker and Taylor shift spaces nearby. The Bell Telephone Co and Long Distance Station also move to the Knight office, with manager W S Healy pleased with the new location.
Fragmentary note lists A. P. Perham Sr in connection with cabbage and plant observations. The readable portion records a brief reference to Perham and cabbage plants.
Atlanta February 1 the famous Rawlings case boys will be reconsidered as the state prison commission orders attorney John R Cooper of Macon to appear February 7 to present further argument for pardon. The brothers are in state penitentiary for complicity in the Carter children murder.
Charleston announces that Reno B. Welbourn from Waycross Georgia cannot arrive on time due to missed connections and must all taxpayers due for 1910 city tax call at once to settle or face levy. City Marshal J W Colley signs.
J Li Walker signs as Tax payer in letters to Alder man Parker and Mayor Cox. Walker asks why the annual financial report is late and why the city borrows funds early in the year, questioning sinking fund use and city indebtedness. Embroidery ad appears at end.
A Waycross Civic League calls for a citywide effort to improve sanitation and public health. A Friday meeting invites all citizens to join in plans for a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful city, emphasizing joint action by residents.

An eight year old’s suspected assailant, William Cooley, a pearl merchant, was seized by a Louisiana mob from a deputy sheriff and lynched after admitting guilt. The incident occurred February 1 as the community reacted to the alleged crime.
The special committee appointed by the grand jury as a board for equalizing the taxes of Ware County is now in session. Members include T. J. McClellan, R. J. La rier, 8. T. Wright, N. L. Gillis, J. M. Ki. Taylor, Ed Grimo, B. M. James, James Heriin and others. The board aims to produce an equitable valuation affecting revenue and tax distribution, while the editorial notes cow movements and park monument concerns, and promises coverage with a critique of sensationalism.

Seven men are dead, seven missing, hundreds wounded, with estimates of fatalities near thirty and total damage around 750000 dollars. The blast affected Manhattan Ellis Island and Brooklyn with ships wrecked and crews lost. The Katherine W lighter vanished with seven aboard. Whistler sank with two crew. Ingrid suffered two deckhand deaths.
