Twelve Want The Position Test Of New Game

The Sol dirs Home trustees meet in Atlanta on the third Wednesday in January to elect officers submit annual reports and name a new superintendent. George Keith acts as superintendent since Captain Barry's death with twelve applicants for the post and bids soon opened for a $5000 addition to Menhoopital to care for aging veterans. Also Savannah judge Freeman rules on a new game law violation in the State against R Ward Allen and a gun and pistol auction scheduled for December 23 at the Court House door to cover shop charges.

Christmas Eve Youth Entertainment at Central Baptist Tabernacle

Tonight at 7 15 in Central Baptist Tabernacle a youth event promises a good time for young folks. A big Xmas tree will stand and Santa Claus will spend an hour meeting children and giving a small package to each attendee.

Governor commutes murderer's death sentence to life imprisonment

Atlanta December 21 Governor Slaton approves prison commission action commuting the death sentence of J. Hunter the Savannah murderer to life imprisonment. The respite would have expired tomorrow. He issued a lengthy opinion reviewing the case and records.

Col Henry Watterson to Speak in Savannah on Arbitration Ratification

Preparations are underway in Savannah Georgia for Colonel Henry Watterson editor of the Louisville Courier Journal to speak at the Savannah Theatre Tuesday evening on ratification of pending treaties for unlimited arbitration with Great Britain and France. The event is under the auspices of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce and a reception will be held upon his arrival.

Boston dispatch reports Rev. Clarence V. T. Richeson shows rapid recovery from injuries after mutilating himself in Suffolk county jail cell. Atlanta Woman Frightened Twice by Death Note Threat

In Atlanta on December 24 a matron received a note from Jim T threatening death by his own hand. Police searched for Graham, who later telephoned to say he had not harmed himself and was returning from a trip to Chattanooga. Friends and police condemn the abnormal act and caution against future threats.

Christmas Mail Service Hours At City Post Office

The city carrier window opens Sunday December 24 from 8 to 10 a m for mail delivery and general business. On Christmas Day the city carriers conduct one full delivery, extra staff are added, and windows remain open 8 to 10 a m for general delivery stamp and register services. Archbishop Quigley presided at Holy Name Cathedral as a requiem high mass was celebrated in memory of fire victims. The service noted a big reduction on doll carts and referenced local companies and individuals connected to the tragedy with memorial mentions through Friday and Saturday events.

A year after the Chicago Stockyards fire four hundred eleven thousand dollars were distributed among twenty one widows of the victims through popular subscriptions. The relief fund was planned to aid families affected by the disaster.
