Fess Outlines GOP Plan and War Prosecution

Washington, Sept 23. Representative Simeon D. Fess of Ohio, former Antioch College president, says the national Republican congressional committees united to erase factional rifts and support a vigorous war effort. He predicts gains in the next House and argues a Republican victory would ensure robust war measures and a decisive peace, opposing Democratic leadership and southern leadership in committees. He cites past opposition to the draft and military bills and asserts Republicans will carry the next House with leaders ready to back the president.
