Farmer Held for Attempt to Have Son Exempted
Sioux City Iowa September 24 a farmer near Sibley was bound over to the federal grand jury on a 1400 bond after an alleged bribery attempt to secure his son Louis exemption from military service. He offered 300 to Dr Frank Tough chairman of the Osceola county draft board for a favorable medical finding. The case dates to September 10 1918 and the man was released on bonds after waiving preliminary hearing.
