Gilbertville Native Nicholas Bloes Dies After Illness
Nicholas Bloes of Gilbertville died yesterday after an eight week illness of paralysis. He came from Germany 54 years ago and was born May 19, 1831 in Luxemburg. He married Rosélin Paterson in 1875 and after her death in 1878 wed Susan Philips of Dubuque. Survived by widow and children Theresa Bussey Waterloo Nicholas Bloes jr. and wife Bines Ashton Ta George Frank Hines Joseph Joseph Bloes La Porte City Peter Bloes at home. Seven grandchildren also survive. Funeral 9:30 a.m. Monday at St Marys Gilbertville. Burial Gilbertville.
