Waterloo Illinois Central shops to be improved repairs planned
A contract for improvements at the Waterloo Illinois Central railroad shops was served by Register & Butler. Work begins at once with a sand brick wall ten feet long to be built between the boiler room and blacksmith shop. The old wall will be razed and backshop wall rebuilt after damage by an engine. One section of the backshop wall will also be rebuilt. Norman Bell, master mechanic, is away, but employees expect renewed fire equipment and efficiency. The Waterloo shops have continued operation with about 1,100 workers and little strike disruption.
