High Power Interference Tests Show Mixed Radio Signals
Reports from across the United States on GE tests at Schenectady on August 22 24 and 26 with 650 kilowatt Superpower broadcasting indicate WGY signals could be tuned out and other stations brought in. Listeners noted less static with Superpower and reduced fading in most cases, while some crystal-set listeners in Schenectady could not hear the transmission. Higher power made signals crisper but music and speech remained indistinct for a few observers.
