Women Seek Great Bargains Amid Flour Price Error
Women watched for bargains as the Courier advertised a 48 lb sack of flour for 1.59 yesterday. The correct price should have been 2.59. The store was crowded and telephones rang constantly this morning as shoppers sought to cut living costs.
Prospective customers approve price, not demanding low sale
The explanation shows reasonable potential buyers did not push the store to drop flour prices to cut profits. The piece mentions Woods' millinery discount sale this week and lists people like Dr. Charles F. Huber Cedar Rapids and others including Bess Jasifek Waterloo and August Piehelman Waterloo with scattered names and dates.
