Rural doctors' dwindling numbers worry small towns
At a country life conference in Ames Iowa Oct 19 Mrs O E Milner and Mr Pleasant warned that illness at home could be left inadequately treated as rural physicians decline. A 1924 survey shows many towns under 1000 lost doctors since 1914 and aging practitioners threaten timely care. Emphasis urged on preventive health, nutrition, home care and maternity guidance through extension services and public health supports.
