World Series Tickets Spark Turbulent Demand in New York
Fans flooded New York today over World Series tickets with cigar shops and theater houses advertising seats. At the National club headquarters 260 to 200 men pressed officials, demanding refunds for unused single game orders while mail orders for entire series were honored. The day saw heightened police presence as the dispute drew attention from the National Commission. Ticket prices were 6 to 10 dollars for the event, with higher rates for premium seats.
