Grounders Not For Belden In Three I League

Rock Island union reporter Castel returned from the Chicago Three I league meeting with little new to say about Waterloo or Cedar Rapids. He said the Rock Island franchise would stay with stockholders to decide at an early next week meeting after reviewing the financials. Belden Hill opposes joining a league led by the southern outfit but Waterloo may lose its berth as northern magnates push for Cedar Rapids or another city. Waterloo fans lament lost money and wonder if remaining out of the game could rebuild finances and grounds for a stronger return. The Red Cedar park grandstand is partly demolished as construction resumes nearby.
