Iowa Dean Sees No Halt To Corn Borer Invasion
Ames Iowa Oct 8 Dean G F Curtiss of the Iowa State College agricultural division after a Europe trip says halting the corn borer at the state border is impossible and the focus must be on control He notes the US leads in practical agriculture and that 10 corn borer stations were set up during their European tour and will operate 18 months The Danube valley is Europe’s corn belt with heavier corn plantings than the midwest yet natural enemies help curb borer damage there.
