Dr Chase to Speak on Work for Crippled Children
Dr C S Chase of the University of Town will address the open meeting of the Woman's club at Hotel Russell Lamson Priday at 8 p m about curing crippled children in Iowa City under the Per king law. The state funds treatment at the university hospital for under 16 with hope of care, with a $150000 appropriation. An orthopedic wing serves 900 cases, many cured or improved. Dr Arthur Steindlar heads the dept, performing operations and grafts. Aids include two instructors and 14 volunteer university women teaching handicapped children. Tonight, club events list various local groups and sewing circle activities with several hosts and hostsesses.
