Sugar ration expanded as beet crop harvest speeds up

The national food administration authorized an extra pound of sugar per person, with details confirmed by state and county officials. Because many merchants are out of stock, the new allowance will not start in Black Hawk County until the November supply arrives around the 4th or 5th.
