Sloane Wallace Junior High to Welcome 1069 Pupils

Sloane Wallace Junior High will receive 1069 pupils from Central Emerson Edison and Irving schools at the start of next school year, per Miss Nettie McKinnon. The list includes promoted students from all four campuses and notes a marriage license for Truman Odell Ask and Olga Constance Nelson of St Ansgar.

Gasoline prices rise again in local stations

Gasoline prices increased for the second time in a week at all local filling stations. The cost now stands at 20 1-9 cents per gallon for lower grade including tax, 29-1-2 cents for higher test, with super grades up correspondingly. The first rise occurred last Thursday with a 2 cent advance due to higher crude petroleum costs and refinery expenses.

Tractor Explosion Victim Recovering At Hospital

Earl Klingaman, 22, of Hudson Road at Klingaman Farm, is recovering from severe burns after a tractor engine exploded Tuesday afternoon while he worked. Hot air and grease ignited, burning his face, arms, hands and chest. Attache reports eyesight unimpaired. Memorial services set in Washington Twp chapel on Sunday May 26 with a picnic in the basement. no evening service.
