Tree crash fines cap drunken driver in Waterloo
Clifford Jones of West Union Iowa and Robert Picieny faced police court after a Waterloo incident in which Jones drove a borrowed 1924 car into a tree at 40 to 60 mph while intoxicated. Jones paid $100 forfeiture and car demolition. Picieny forfeited bond. Other speeders and a drunk paid fines as Judge Beem imposed penalties. Mayor Goodfellow’s arrest case ended with a $106 fine and instruction to collect it.
