Senator Simmons of North Carolina opposed modifying Article 10 and voted against a substitute. The Senate reaffirmed its adoption of the article amid debate on allied U. K. U.S. changes and the U. S. stance.
A new grade school in Highland will be dedicated to Frances Grout after 25 years as a Waterloo public schools instructor. The building will bear Theodore Roosevelt’s name and be erected in Gates Place with excavation started and completion aimed for September. Construction will begin this summer under the superintendent C W. Voter. The registration board stays open until 9 tonight. If you moved or turned 21 since the last election you must register to vote. Vote the Citizens' ticket straight.
Two fire alarms were answered yesterday afternoon. At 4:20 pm crews responded to 244 Fremont Street, residence of L A Geismar, and at 6:30 pm to 1302 Mulberry. No damage reported. Also a divorce complaint filed by Zelda M Bell against Fred L Bell cites desertion since Feb. 1 1018.
