AOD Measures in Assembly for Debate Friday
Des Moines March 14 The new road bond bill shaping ideas of Governor Hammill and the State Highway Commission, with Chief Engineer Fred R White, is to be introduced in both Iowa houses tomorrow. The measure faces close attorney study before submission and may substitute Hammill’s bond plan. In the senate the new bill may move ahead of the Pletcher measure as the highways committee follows familiar drafting lines. The old bond fight may guide votes in both houses. The commission argues the plan is economical and would save about 9 985 000 in interest versus the anticipatory certificate plan while maintaining road construction financing without stoppage.
