Six period day adopted for West High School
West High School will begin a six period day in the 1929 30 school year to allow six classes in each subject daily, replacing five under the current plan. The action was approved by the board of education on a recommendation from Principal William W Gibson. Superintendent Charles A Kittrell reported many students and teachers at Whittier School took the Dick susceptibility test for scarlet fever. testing continues at Waterloo Junior High and other schools.
