Rotate Vegetable Crops for Better Yields and Fertility
Farmers and gardeners are urged to rotate garden crops to maintain soil fertility and improve yields. The national guide classifies vegetables by families including mustards and cresses, legumes, roots, and nightshades, advising not to plant members of the same family in the same row where prior crops grew. This helps avoid sowing beans after peas or cabbage after a related plant.

Wheat Market Volatile Amid Sharp Week of Drops

Corn and oats also declined, while provisions advanced about 1.75 as hog values surged. Estimated US farm wheat stocks at 112 million bushels, a 20 year low, sparked selling amid dry western weather and rising world import needs.
