Senate to Tackle GAO Gas Tax Measure Tuesday
Des Moines March 6 The Town senate moved to a showdown on the gasoline tax by setting Tuesday March 10 as the time to ink up both the Bowman and Bergman tax bills. Bowman would split funds 50 50 between primary and secondary roads, Bergman would divide one third to each of primary county township roads. Secondary road distribution under Bowman follows county area, township mileage, county population, and county area proportions to the state totals. The House will await Senate action on Bergman to see how the tax funds are split.
