Letsch Wins Waterloo Courier Ad Writing Contest
Mrs. Raymond Letsch of 1023 Evergreen Avenue won the third Waterloo Evening Courier classified ad writing contest by a narrow margin. Four others competed, with 132 replies this week versus 476 last week. Carelessness cost several entrants, as many omitted name and phone details or exceeded fifty words. Letsch earned a $10 prize for an ad offering discarded furniture at low prices. First prize went to Mrs. F. R. Schnell, with ten others receiving Plaza Theatre tickets. A new contest titled Farm For Sale will be held next week.
