Two Parcel Post Deliveries Daily Start Tomorrow
Beginning tomorrow east and west Waterloo districts will have two parcel post deliveries daily, up from one, with Saturday already two. Postmaster Ray C. Pevert announced the change after Eggert and inspectors recommended it. A proposal to extend to outlying districts, especially the west side, awaits Washington approval. Eggert said the extra service will aid merchants by afternoon package delivery after the morning run. The fiscal year ends today and Eggert's report to Washington shows local business at $490,000, up about 10 percent from last year and $200,000 higher than four years ago.

Ottumwa manager Pat Harkins released pitcher Paul Nelson and infielder Charles Renfro. Klumpp proves versatile, starting at third then moving to outfield and other infield posts. Ralph Alexander explains why he pulled Glen Lehr from Ernie North in the semi windup after repeated clinch breaches. Lehr was warned, then halted by the referee’s order to step back.
