YMCA Aims to Raise 5000 for Current Expenses
Workers from the YMCA began a pledge drive to raise 5000 dollars for current expenses. Half is to be collected now and half on December 1. Four thousand dollars will fund repairs in the basement for boys, with 2500 for furnishing and fitting. Dinner was served today for the workers and supper will be served this evening.
Bucket of Cold Water for Rhodes
John Rhodes was found this morning in the rear of the Corn Belt telephone office on Fifth street in a state near intoxication. He was doused with a bucket of cold water by bystanders, waking him to think he had slept in the rain. An officer offered him a ride home but he began to walk, then sought a drink and fell.

Washington June 26 two government fisheries agents Walter L Hahn and H D Chichester perished in Alaska while saving their wives when their boat capsized in a squall near St Paul Island on May 31.
