Charm ing Five Oclock Tea Event and Social Gatherings
A social calendar close featured a six o'clock tea hosted by Mrs A L Alexander and Miss Jennie Mc Coy at the Alexander home in Highland with pink green and white decor. Twenty two guests sat at one large and three small tables enjoying a four course tea served by Elizabeth Black Lela Powers Anita Rath and Corinne Howrey with out of town guests Edna Smith and Gretchen Hathaway. The Philathea class hosted the Baraca class at Lafayette park for a two course picnic supper followed by games and photos. Miss Jeannette Hotchkiss Josephine Van Ets and Kate S Titus visited Miss Dorothy Otto and attended a five o'clock tea by Miss Hazel Bond with musical numbers and readings.

East Park Presbyterian Church Dedicated in Waterloo
East Park Presbyterian Church was formally dedicated on Sunday with services led by Dr. C. H. Purmort of Des Moines and city ministers. A large congregation heard a dedicatory address on the Word, the heart, and fulfilling God’s will. Donations cleared the debt, church starts with 27 members, and notable civic praise highlighted by First Church volunteers.

Chief of Police Dinneen has arranged extensive coverage for circus day. Officers will line the parade route and one officer will monitor traffic at the street intersection in the business district as residents head out to watch the event.

Young Men Hauld Into Court Over Boat House Break In
After a late Saturday night attempt to break into a boat house warrants were sworn for Harry O’Hare Fred Koch Roy Beckett and Charles Stone on charges of drunkenness and taking property without consent. O’Hare failed to appear bond forfeited. Koch Beckett and Stone pleaded not guilty and were fined ten dollars each with trial set for 5 PM.
