Five Acre Alfalfa Rent Sets Cash Price Record

In Cedar Falls a five acre alfalfa field in Washington township near the Commercial club experimental plots was leased for 25 dollars an acre to EB L Wilson from Jessica C Weeks. Wilson will harvest two to three alfalfa crops and pay 50 dollars before the first cut and 75 dollars before the second. The project highlights a growing sandy land region attracting new investment and local farmers, with substantial recent land sales and extensive club plots showing strong alfalfa yields. An open house at the club plots will follow by a strawberry feed and local program at Island Park with remarks on soils.
