Fragmented 1920s Snippets In A Patchwork Tale
The text presents a collage of fragmented notes and quotations including dramatic lines about a wound and rose, a literary reference to LADIE SEAGRAVE, a line about population absurdity, musings on rest, Hoover, crossing fears, streetcar life, a missing skirt fragment, souvenir usage, and a vague note about farm caravans in Kansas City. The random items resemble a clipped newspaper page with diverse, unrelated items and quotes.

Former Resident Des Moines Made Money Through Race
Des Moines June 11 former local man Raymond Red Gill now of Los Angeles says he cleaned up selling race program booklets on the cross country derby that ended in Madison Square Garden. He estimates selling about 700000 booklets mostly in the southwest and credits the venture with a large profit despite others calling the circus a flop. Gill notes Andrew Payne of Claremore Oklahoma won the $25000 first prize and praises Payne for combining endurance with speed. He plans to repeat the venture with another Pyle caravan and says publicity man Plekens outperformed the chief.
