Corn Price Rise Irks Iowa as Armistice Euphoria Grows
Des Moines reports the post armistice market surge with corn selling at 1.10 on the Chicago market. July 1 Iowa crop data shows a 20 percent yield drop from last year and a 10 percent US decline, with total Iowa corn at 347,227,000 bushels. Oats will exceed last year, at 213,638,000 bushels. Farm sales may rise as land changes hands again this fall, driven by higher prices and pending farm indebtedness relief. Des Moines and Fort Dodge note Northwest Iowa tennis semifinals.
