He noted 1924 corn, oats and wheat cash crops yielded 26.04, 7.78 and 13.38 dollars per acre respectively after costs, with landowner cost reductions leaving limited returns. He contrasted this with a gross return of 16.80 dollars per acre statewide, urging caution about tax and depreciation burdens on farmers.
