Storm damages farm and Tama high school in July storm
A severe electrical storm Saturday near Tama struck a farm house owned by Joe Boden eight miles southwest of Tama and destroyed a barn with contents and two horses. Neighbors saved the house. Mrs Roden vanished then was found safe. The Tama High School building was struck with little damage. Roads and fields were washed and small grain leveled by the downpour.

Cedar Rapids Va July 8 The International Baptist Young People's Union convention finalized plans to stay in touch with members who have joined the service in France and at home. Local unions would write soldiers from their city on one Sunday, send care boxes, and outline Bible courses. About 1200 new testaments have been sent to soldiers and sailors. The board of managers urged broader giving to fund church beneficences and the American Tithers league. A campaign of 10409 dollars will launch to fund this work.
