Nevada Iowa July 6 a boil over in Sherman township near Colo ended when Sheriff Bretten and Deputy Lough halted a crowd of over 100 men who planned to paint E C Edler a German farmer. Edler had made pro German remarks and was stripped to the waist as pots and brushes waited. Officers calmed the mob and promised official action. Des Moines July 6 Lieut Col Todd commandant base hospital Camp Dodge died Wednesday morning at Chicago Presbyterian hospital of pneumonia after ten days illness. He may have contracted the disease during a two week tour of cantons. He had been at Camp Dodge since September and was made lieutenant colonel in May. Home in Minneapolis where he was a noted ear expert. Body to be taken there for military burial.
