Prisoners in Solitary After Banked Jail Break Attempt
Willam Edwards and Emil Bishop, held on charges, attacked Sheriff H. T. Wagner and jailer W. C. Bloom during a bid to escape at 6:10 p m yesterday. Bloom was carrying supper when assaulted, and a Mexican inmate Pablo Salas aided. two other prisoners refused involvement. Douglas, a loyal trusty, notified the sheriff and defended the jail, leaving the pair bruised and in solitary confinement.

Injured by Biting a Torpedo Reported Improved
Lucille Kennedy four year old daughter of Mrs N R Kennedy of 20 Logan Avenue was reported improving at St Francis hospital after an exploding torpedo injured her mouth while she and her mother walked in the business section. The torpedo was bitten by the child and caused facial injuries. The mother carried her to the police station and then to the hospital.
