Corn Belt Meat Producers back price support and reforms
The Corn Belt Meat Producers association closed a two day convention in Des Moines with resolutions backing government price floors for hogs at 17.50 dollars and government purchase of the 1919 wheat crop. They urged investigation of rail service issues and subsidies for merchant ships while endorsing the Kendrick bill for government control and an agricultural commission. J L Harris promised to review livestock shipper complaints in Washington. Officers were re elected and directors named from Iowa districts. A Salem woman was asked to return allotment money after her husband’s death while he sat nearby with the baby.
