Kids Privileges on Roads Equal to Any Traffic

Des Moines Jan 26 Justice Silas M Weaver of the Iowa supreme court rules that children coasting on public highways have equal rights to use the road as travelers with a coach and six. The case arose when Miss Heenan and others coasting collided with a carriage driven by Miss Boeman and Wilson, who sought damages. The court held highways are for pleasure as well as business and affirmed the verdict awarding Miss Boeman $2,286 and established that kids on sleds and travois have rights equal to other road users.

Martinsburg Iowa January 26 W Jasey Mexican and Civil War veteran and 46 years a resident here died. Born 1827 he served from Mexican War through the First Tennessee Monterrey Cerro Gordo Vera Cruz he held a National Veterans badge. He was conscripted into the Confederate army escaped joined Hood’s and Murfreesboro campaigns and went through the war in the One Hundred Fiftieth.

Turger & Son Sell Property and Business

A deal closed Saturday for the sale of the property and business of 4 Burger & Son, who have operated a flour, feed, hay and grain concern for ten years at 412 416 Sixth street east. Victor J. Teisinger, former Creston, Iowa operator, buys the venture with 40 feet frontage on Sixth Street East, a two story warehouse, and nearby rail trackage. He plans to expand by road representation and add a flour and feed jobbing line alongside local trade. Burger may spend time on the coast for his wife's health after adjustments. W. W.
