French Tame Rebel Tribes with Pius Paris

Paris January 22 4 Medicine is a new ann of French propaganda in the near east. Where force has failed to conquer the native populations of Syria and the rebel Druse tribes it is possible that hospitals and free dispensaries will succeed. Archard reported to the Academy of Medicine after studying medical conditions in the near east. He found French medical influence predominant in Persia where many French professors have been called to organize a modern Persian medical profession. In France the Syrian mandate at Beirut sees the Hôpital Saint Joseph fallen behind the American hospital and in need of subsidies. Archard urged closer collaboration between the two. At Damascus a new Syrian faculty with four French professors prepares to restore the prestige of the ancient Arab university.
