Bank Examiner Killed by Train in Grand Junction
Henry J. Sehios a state bank examiner was instantly killed yesterday at Grand Junction Iowa while waiting at the station. He stood on one track watching a freight train when a Northwestern passenger train struck him. The Perry boy aged about 27 had been connected with the First National Bank of Perry and was soon to be married. He had been assistant to the national bank examiner for Iowa and was recently chosen by Gov Harding to serve as a bank examiner. He was on a business trip when the fatal accident occurred.

Towa Communities Face Coal Shortage in Iowa
Des Moines January 12 The state fuel commission has worked to secure coal shipments for Towa communities that reported shortages. All complaints so far have been supplied, though Rep Arch McFarlane of Waterloo notes the situation remains serious and coal remains hard to obtain. Cornell Bluffs and Atlantic also reported shortages, with coal to be forwarded promptly.

Des Moines Jan 12 A seven passenger automobile ordered wrecked for using it to transport booze may be kept intact and turned over to the soldiers at Camp Dodge. District Judge Hutchinson said he would likely modify the prior destruction order and give the car to Uncle Sam after protests.
