Fayette M E Church Centennial Placed In Pioneer Cabin Recall

The Courier Anectat Service from Payette Idaho reports Fayette M E Church marks 79th anniversary with a Wednesday event. Since 1850 John Hindman led a five member class at James Robertson’s home south of town, roots tracing to a 1843 schoolhouse and 1857 chapel. The current Gothic church, oldest west of the Mississippi, was dedicated in 1866. The program will dramatize Hindman’s ride and the church’s birth, recalling planter history over 125 years.
