The eight local Socialist congressmen faced denial of seats in the New York Assembly after a lengthy session in Albany. A committee was empowered to handle the incident following a Rand School conference, with promises to seek labor union cooperation and pursue an eligibility probe. The vote was 140 to 0, Speaker Sweet denounced the Socialist platform, and several Socialist leaders abstained or voted against the resolution.
