Suffragist Hope Grows for Re submittion Bill Passage
Dr Effie McCollum Jones spoke at a suffrage picnic in Walnut Street Baptist church saying Iowa suffrage workers now have considerable hope the re submission bill will receive favorable consideration in the assembly. She praised Miss Lawther and others and noted support from Senator Grout and Representatives McFarlane and Santee. The gathering included 200 women, enrollment cards, and pledges toward the state budget. A suffrage play The Coming of Annabelle drew praise, and Mrs Jones will speak at Cedar Falls Saturday with more events planned.
