Meatless Wheatless 'Traitors' Steal From Soldiers Says Governor Harding

Governor Harding in an Iowa Engineering Society banquet address denounces meatless and wheatless violations as stealing from soldiers and calls traitors for ignoring food conservation. He urges large-scale home farming, urges women’s support, and cites Iowa Rainbow division boys as example of national duty. He warns there is no middle ground and urges victory in three to five years with millions in uniform and widespread production. The talk frames home front effort as critical to win the war and end with a call for unity and faith.
