Mrs Thomas Gray died in West Liberty last Friday her body brought to Independence for interment. The funeral baby Afoniay from the home of Mrs L S Freeman. Thurlal was at Oakwood. Joseph John Smith Jr died in Virginia Minn Saturday of pneumonia with services Friday afternoon. He was born June 11 1880 in Buchanan county and later moved to Minnesota Surviving are the father a sister Mrs W F Fenner and brothers James and Leo Mr and Mrs Cy Smith Cedar Rapids are here for the funeral Wood replaces coal as fuel as the local fuel situation eases with people buying wood.
