Tomorrow's calendar lists Seventh Day Adventist at Mr C al Way 14 Washington Street and many other churches with service times Sunday school and sermons. Denominations include Baptist Catholic Christadelphian Christian Church of Christ Scientist Congregational Episcopal Evangelical Lutheran and more with locations on Walnut Street Jefferson Street Fourth Street and others plus notes on catechism, memorial services and special events.
Rev W H Rogers and Rev Hazel Philpotts will conduct a two weeks revival at Burdon Avenue Baptist Church starting Sunday. Rogers will be evangelist and Philpotts will lead singing and afternoon meetings for boys. Tomorrow services at usual hours. Morning subject Follow the Leader, evening The Price of Sons Winning. Chicago reports George W. Perkins leading a Progressive plan to oppose John Y. Adams for party chair at St. Louis, aiming to unite conservatives with Progressives against Adams. Roosevelt backs John T. King, while Will Hays receives support from Perkins allies as the national committee vote nears.
A Union service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church Ash Wednesday from 12 noon to 3 pm with seven ministers invited by the rector to speak on topics he chose. All pastors and Christians in the city are welcome to attend, entering or leaving during hymns. the service includes multiple hymns and prayers led by Rev. Moore, Rev. Yagoy, Rev. Easley, Rev. Goughnour, Rev. MuCartney, Rev. Lace, and Rev. Munn.
Graves Memorial Unit church begins an eight weeks attendance contest for members and friends. Cards will record attendance at all Sunday and midweek services. A men and boys versus women and girls competition will run, with special features and five Sundays devoted to missionary education and inspiration.

The Dubuque Shippers Association sued to remove rate discrimination favoring Chicago and St Louis. Dubuque now has equal or lower rates where distances to Dubuque are same or less than to St Louis.
J. E. Groarker faced accusations after a billiards dispute led to corporal punishment attempt against Nstergaard. Gistergaard filed assault and battery charges with Justice F. Kiaapp. Crocker pleaded guilty, fined $10 and costs, and the two men resumed their friendship.

Volunteers receive a card and records kept for future reference. When needed, the government will notify and outline wages, hours, work site, and transportation. If these terms do not suit, the volunteer may refuse.
London February reports two Cowichan Lake children, Doreen Ashburnham and Anthony Farrer, awarded the Albert Medal after bravely defending each other from a cougar. The boy fought with his fists while the girl used a bridle and raised arms, eventually driving the animal away before it was killed nearby.
Spokesmen from 16 national farm groups and many smaller ones met at a war time conference in Washington to present a memorial to President Wilson urging government action to speed up agricultural production. They asked for a nine farmer commission, temporary draft relief for trained farm workers, clearer draft rules, farm feeding and machinery support, faster credit for crops, and price controls extending to farm purchases. Wilson pledged careful consideration and stressed the high stakes in the battle to uphold American ideals, noting the memorial approved issuing 4 billion dollars in bonds to finance essential industries and suggesting food production aid would not require such expenditure.
