Patriotism Dire Weeds in War Talk at Waterloo
J M Wentworth of Des Moines urged revival of patriotism as the nation nears possible war. He spoke in Waterloo and at Waverly on dairying, denouncing anti patriots while praising the spirit that built colonies. A disturbance in a hotel lobby followed his forceful, fiery defence of American ideals. He identified as Sons of the American Revolution president and warned that unity and patriotism matter more than modern war tech.
