Heatless Monday Likely To End After Conference
Washington February 4 heat less Monday observed for the third time may be abandoned by the fuel administration after a conference of state administrators. The meeting called by Fuel Administrator Garfield aims to gauge coal savings from the five day closing order and the two heatless Mondays. If results justify it, heatless holidays may be dropped in favor of the railroad embargoes now in force to ease coal shortage and eastbound traffic congestion. Final decision awaits an exchange between Administrator Taftfield and Director General McAdoo.

Plans For Big Patriotic Meeting In Black Hawk County
Wartime speakers Everett Colby and Dr. Ray Lyman Wilbur will address a large patriotic meeting in Black Hawk County, Iowa. The event, organized by W. F. Parrott’s committee, aims to motivate wartime support with notes from France and a credible national guest.
