Cedar Falls Fire Nearly Destroys Boarding House
A boarding house at 624 West Twenty fourth street owned by H P Shedd and housing Mr and Mrs Leyton Rowe was largely ruined by a fire likely started by a hot chimney. The building was gutted inside but most furniture was removed. Firemen battled the blaze in frigid conditions and fireman Peter Rasmussen collapsed from cold after the truck returned to the station. He was revived with medical care.
