Illinois Central to Move Yards South of Waterloo
The Illinois Central Railroad plans to relocate its Waterloo yards, purchasing about 250 acres for a roughly 1 1/2 mile by 5,000 foot strip extending toward Elk Run. The project, likely to start after land consolidation, could yield a new center with a roundhouse and shops and an outlay near 2 million dollars.
