Des Moines December 27 The Red Cross chapters in Iowa plan major expansion of home care, tuberculosis prevention, canteen services and nursing recruitment. State Director A E Kepford announced new committees to organize thousands of new members and extend supplies, factory work, and women’s sewing. English to resign Iowa insurance post in January
Des Moines December 27 Emory H English tendered resignation as commissioner of Insurance of the state of Iowa to take effect January 15 or soon after. He will be appointed for a one year term to complete the present term ending January 1 1919. He also resigns as president of the national convention of Insurance commissioners to accept presidency of the Iowa Lending and Casualty Company of Des Moines with $1,000,000 capital and about $500,000 surplus. The new company will begin business writing surety and general casualty lines.
