Riviera theatre organ rises from depths in dramatic reveal
A Waterloo reporter tours the Riviera theatre and witnesses the dramatic emergence of a new theatre organ. Manager Herbert D. Grove unveils the console rising from the orchestra pit as crews move boxes and hydraulic boxes aside. The organ’s gleaming keys and numerous stops promise a future of dramatic sound from concealed pipes once the show begins. In Ames, Ed Brown, 30, suffers serious injuries after being trapped under a falling mass of cane at the municipal light plant.
